After revising its cars for the 2023 and 2024 model years, Nissan is concentrated on updating its SUVs for 2025. In the shadow of three redesigned SUVs and a majorly updated pickup truck, the Japanese automaker’s familiar sedan, coupe and hatchback range enters the recent model year with minor updates. Nissan dresses up its cars with a handful of recent features and introduces recent services to lure in shoppers. We’ve been hoping that hybrids and EVs would join the Nissan cars lineup, but shoppers will have to make do with the following updates.

2025 Nissan Sentra: What’s recent

After a major update for 2024, the 2025 Nissan Sentra carries over mostly unchanged. Now available on the SV trim, the NissanConnect Service package includes MyNissan app control, a Wi-Fi warm spot and other online features. Nissan also includes three complimentary oil changes over the first two years or 24,000 miles of ownership.

2025 Nissan Leaf: What’s recent

The all-electric 2025 Nissan Leaf hatchback is a complete carryover for the recent model year. This second-creation EV was introduced in 2018 and was most recently updated for 2023, when it received a fresh front fascia, a recent 17-inch wheel design and Nissan’s current badge design. Additionally, Nissan reshaped the Leaf’s tire deflectors, diffuser and spoiler. Inside the cabin, the steering wheel got the recent Nissan badge and a refreshed welcome graphic for the instrument panel display. Trim structuring was slimmed down to S and SV models, each with a distinctive seating package. SV Plus models received Nissan’s ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driving structure.

2025 Nissan Z: What’s recent

We aren’t expecting any major updates to the 2025 Nissan Z, although a recent special edition could still be on the table. For 2024, Nissan made the Amazon Alexa digital assistant standard for all Z sports cars. A nostalgic Heritage Edition also joined the lineup as a festivity of the coupe’s 55th anniversary. Offered with a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic transmission, the special package equipped the sporty Nissan car with a mechanical limited-slip rear differential and the Nissan act brake package. Sight Orange paint, black 19-inch wheels, body-color fender extensions, black decals and a split grille recall prior versions of the Z.

For 2024, a NISMO model arrived with a 20-hp bump over the standard Z, also spinning out an extra 34 lb-ft of torque. Nissan equips this model with a more aggressive tire, act-oriented aero upgrades, stiffer suspension and bigger brakes. A red-themed interior, suede Recaro seating and NISMO badging round out the upgrades.

2025 Nissan Z: Pros and cons

2025 Nissan GT-R: Discontinued

Godzilla is taking a nap. The 2024 model year was the last for the R35 creation GT-R, which had been produced since the 2008 Nissan GT-R took the globe by storm. In festivity of this legendary Nissan car, the automaker introduced two final special-edition models. The Takumi Edition, named for Nissan’s master craftsmen that hand-assembled the GT-R, comes equipped with a gold VIN plate in the engine bay with red-etched script nodding to the takumi. Supposedly, these engines are better-balanced than prior GT-R iterations. The Takumi Edition received Midnight Purple paint on the outside and Mori Green trim inside the cabin. act upgrades include NISMO carbon-ceramic brakes, gold-painted 20-inch NISMO Rays wheels, wider front fenders and a specially tuned Vehicle Dynamic Control structure (also tuned by NISMO). The Skyline Edition wasn’t quite as thorough a special edition. It is, however, painted in gorgeous Bayside Blue with a Sora Blue interior. We’re going to miss the R35 GT-R, even if it did long ago misplace its globe-beating position. Here’s hoping Godzilla wakes up soon. One thing is pretty obvious: Its upcoming is electrified.
