Dunkin’ gets spicy in Instagram posts, talks about ‘ya girl.’ The internet is here for it

Dunkin’ Donuts has amused its fanbase and competitors alike following a rather spicy post to the brand’s Instagram account.

The post in question was one of a series of Halloween-themed posts made to advertise Dunkin’s offerings ahead of Spooky period, which includes a recent drink, donut and a custom Munchkins bucket. While the first couple of posts were relatively tame, the spicy one on Tuesday included some not-suitable-for-work messaging.

“YA GIRL SAID IM NOT SO ITSY BITSY,” the post reads.

Hundreds of people and a handful of brands, including Walgreens, took to the comments to either compliment Dunkin’s marketing throng or keep the bit going for as long as feasible.

No one has kept the “bit” alive better than Dunkin,’ which continues to hit Instagram with the recent content. They even launched merch of the “spider donut” mascot, which has already sold out, according to Dunkin.’

“Dunkin in their unhinged era. Pop awffffp,” one user wrote.

Pringles and others weigh in on Dunkin’s ‘unhinged’ post

From Pringles to Smarties, anyone who is anyone commented on the Dunkin’ post, which will be included below.

“You got spunk, kid,” Pringles wrote.

Cheez-It: “Orange spider could never.”

Others like Walgreens and the QVC home-shopping network jokingly begged Dunkin’ to cut it out.

“Dunkin please my girls on here,” wrote Walgreens accompanied by a crying face.

The Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, Rhode Island, felt similarly, writing “I can’t handle this today.”

Halloween offerings available at Dunkin’ through October

Dunkin' is celebrating Halloween with a few all-new menu items, available for a limited time beginning Oct. 16.

Dunkin’ is going all out for Halloween, dropping a number of menu items and offering deals for rewards members and merchandise.

Menu items include:

  • Potion Macchiato: Blends layers of espresso and milk with a vibrant, purple marshmallow ube flavor; available warm or iced.
  • Spider Specialty Donut: Adorned with purple frosting and topped with a Glazed Chocolate Munchkins Donut Hole Treat, complete with a chocolate drizzle for spider lets and white drizzle forming the eyes.
  • Halloween Munchkins Bucket: A purple bucket, illustrated with a sweet Halloween motif, can be filled with a 50-count assortment of Munchkins Donut Hole Treats, with recent Halloween sprinkle-covered Munchkins added to the assortment.

Dunkin’ is also dressing up its classic vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry frosted donuts with a “festive blend” of chocolate and orange sprinkles to sweeten the celebrations, the corporation said in a information release.

  • Oct. 15-21: $3 Maple Sugar Bacon Sandwich
  • Oct. 22-28: $1 Classic Donut
  • Oct. 23: Boosted Members earn 4x points on beverages
  • Oct. 29-Nov. 4: Snackin’ Bacon for $2
  • Oct. 29: Earn 3x points when ordering 25- or 50-count Dunkin’ Munchkins Donut Hole Treats

Dunkin’ merch:

Dunkin’ fans can also represent the brand with the popular DunKings tracksuits, which were made popular in Dunkin’s Super Bowl LVIII ad.

According to the corporation, the tracksuits are available in three versions of Halloween “to fit every type of trick-or-treater.” The three versions include:

  • Original DunKings Tracksuits: The original jacket ($60) and pants ($60), sold separately, are available on ShopDunkin.com while supplies last.
  • DunKids Tracksuits: Sold as a set ($80) and available exclusively on ShopDunkin.com while supplies last.
  • DunKings Costume Set: This look includes a long-sleeve jersey shirt, bucket hat and sunglasses so guests can be “ready to instantly rule Halloween.” The set goes for $44.99 and is available on ShopDunkin.com and select stores while supplies last.

The corporation is also bringing back its 6-foot Inflatable Spider Donut Halloween decoration, available exclusively on ShopDunkin.com for $55.
