Election Day is almost here, and while the primary focus of most people will be getting to their polling precinct and casting their vote, many people will also be trying to knock out regular day-to-day errands, such as picking up arid cleaning or going to the financial institution.

While Election Day is not a federal holiday, some states do observe it as a holiday. Most states offices will be closed on the day and 24 states offices, plus the District of Columbia, propose paid period off to vote. Other states propose period off for voting but with no pay.

While the day is not a federal holiday, many people are left wondering if banks, post offices and shipping services will be open on Election Day. Here’s what we recognize.
