Hyundai recalls over 145,000 vehicles: view affected models

Hyundai is recalling over 145,000 vehicles, including several IONIQ and Genesis models.  

The automotive manufacturer is recalling 145,235 of its vehicles for a deficit of drive power from a damaged charging unit. In the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall update Hyundai said, “the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) may become damaged and stop charging the 12-volt battery which can outcome in a deficit of drive power.”  

A deficit of drive power will boost the hazard of a crash, the update said.  

Hyundai dealers will make service repairs for free, including inspecting and replacing the ICCU and its fuse, if essential, and updating the ICCU software. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent by Jan. 17, 2025, but owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 or Genesis customer service at 1-844-340-9741. This recall, which are numbers 272 (Hyundai) and 025G (Genesis), expands and replaces previous recall number 24V-204. If your vehicle was repaired under the previous recall, you will require to have the recent remedy completed. 

Hyundai is recalling the 2022-2024 IONIQ 5 for a loss of drive power.

Hyundai issues another recall

Hyundai recalls Santa Fe for sunshade that may operate unexpectedly.

Last week, Hyundai issued a recall for 34,964 of its vehicles.

The automotive manufacturer recalled the 2024 Santa Fe and Santa Fe Hybrid SUVs because “the overhead console rear sunshade switch knob may not be fully recessed, which can outcome in unintentional closing of the sunshade,” the NHTSA update said.

A sunshade that closes unexpectedly can boost the hazard of injury, the update said. The Santa Fe and Santa Fe Hybrid vehicles “fall short to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 118, ‘Power-Operated Window, Partition and Roof Panel Systems,’’ NHTSA said.  

Dealers will replace the switch knobs for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Jan. 6, 2025. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 270.
