The final Mega Millions drawing of the year sees a jackpot commence building again as a ticket in Northern California had the numbers to claim a $1.22 billion prize in Friday’s draw.

The player holding the ticket sold in Cottonwood, California can lay claim to the fifth largest jackpot in the game’s history and the fourth jackpot won this year. Friday’s triumph was the second jackpot north of $1 billion won this year after a player in recent Jersey won $1.128 billion in March.

Tuesday’s draw starts the jackpot at $20 million with a $9 million liquid assets alternative.

The Mega Millions numbers are set to be drawn shortly after 11 p.m. ET and USA TODAY will have the results below.
