The winner matched all six white balls and the gold Mega Ball to triumph the jackpot, which has a liquid assets alternative payout of $50.4 million.
Previously, the most recent large Mega Millions winner was a lucky player in California who won a jackpot of more than $1 billion on Dec. 27.
