Not just for kids: Goldfish crackers announces name transformation to appeal to grown-up snackers
The snack that smiles back has a recent name.
The beloved Goldfish cracker’s recent name will temporarily be Chilean Sea Bass Crackers, the brand announced Wednesday.
The name transformation comes as the brand aims to expand its appeal toward grown-up snackers, including Millennials and Gen Z adults, the business announced.
“We recognize the adore for Goldfish spans all ages. Chilean Sea Bass is a playful nod to adults that the iconic fish-shaped snack is for grown-up tastes too,” Goldfish Vice President Danielle Brown said in a information release.
Goldfish lovers of all age groups can order two bags of Chilean Sea Bass crackers for $7.38 while supplies last as of Wednesday at ChileanSeaBassCrackers.com. The business teased “recent drops of inventory” through Oct. 30.
Brand previous tried to allure grown-up snackers
The brand has recently aimed to allure adults through recent limited edition flavors.
Among these are the Goldfish ancient BAY Seasoned Crackers, which blended 18 herbs and spices to serve as a tangy topping for seafood and other meals.
In 2021, the brand also introduced the Goldfish Frank’s RedHot Crackers through a collaboration with the Pepperidge Farm brand. The snack combined classic warm sauce ingredients like vinegar and aged cayenne peppers.
“The No. 1 requested flavor for Goldfish was warm and spicy,” Campbell Snacks chief marketing officer Janda Lukin previously told USA TODAY. “This flavor is for the older, mature spectators, who requested and can handle the heat.”
