President-elect Donald Trump doesn’t receive office until Jan. 20, but his proposed tariffs, and the effects they could have on U.S. retailers and ultimately consumers, are all the buzz.At an occurrence in early December with major U.S. retailers, “we exclusively talked about this topic of tariffs,” Balika Sonthalia of global way and management consultancy firm Kearney, told me for a USA TODAY narrative.
Trump implemented some tariffs during his first term in office, but these proposed tariffs are different, several experts in the retail sector told me.Ultimately, consumers will pay the worth for these tariffs, they said.

Winter storm in Southeast causes flight cancellations
A winter storm bringing a mix of snow and ice to the Southeast is snarling air trip this morning. More than 2,000 U.S. flights have been canceled and more than 1,100 others have been delayed as of 9 a.m., according to the flight-tracking website FlightAware.
