Yum! Brands names Scott Mezvinsky as recent KFC CEO

Louisville-based Yum! Brands has named Scott Mezvinsky as its recent KFC CEO, effective March 1.

Mezvinsky, 49, a 20-year veteran of the corporation, who currently serves as President of Taco Bell North America and International, will achieve Sabir Sami, who is stepping down as KFC CEO at the complete of February 2025, according to a information release announcing the transformation.

Mezvinsky will assume global responsibility for driving the brand schedule and act of KFC.

“Scott is one of Yum! Brands’ most respected leaders, with more than 20 years of encounter with the corporation in areas including operations, schedule, finance and advancement and a powerful track record of delivering impactful results,” Yum! Brands Chief Executive Officer David Gibbs said in the information release. “In his most recent role as President of Taco Bell North America and International, Scott has helped implement Taco Bell’s well-known bold and exciting ideas and ensured that global restaurant teams and customers have an industry-leading encounter. He is a natural selection to navigator KFC’s long-term global growth strategies, working in close collaboration with our franchisees.”

Yum! Brands, Inc. announced the promotion of Scott Mezvinsky, 49, to KFC Division Chief Executive Officer, effective March 1, 2025.

Mezvinsky has also been Taco Bell’s Global Chief schedule & budgetary Officer, leading the finance, advancement and schedule functions to assist reach the corporation’s objective of becoming a $20 billion brand, among other roles, including General Manager of KFC Iberia, and roles in the KFC Latin America and Caribbean trade.

“It is a tremendous integrity to navigator an iconic brand such as KFC and have the chance to work with talented, dedicated leaders and franchise partners around the globe,” Mezvinsky said.

Sami has been CEO of the KFC Division since January 2022 and has held a variety of executive positions with Yum! Brands since 2009.

Brands and KFC, and the meaningful impact he has had on our business,” said Gibbs. “He is a highly respected chief in our corporation and the industry whose focus on strategic brand building and operations has helped elevate the KFC brand around the globe.
